Ceramics, cooking and farewell dinner
Today you will enjoy a local tour of one of the Medici Residence’s in Poggio a Caiano , a medieval hamlet and a ceramic factory that has been producing ceramics for over 1000 years. If you prefer we can do a local wine tasting instead of the villa or ceramics. Your day will start at 9 am to have coffee and pastry in a bakery. Next it’s off to a nearby ceramic factory to discover the making of beautiful Tuscan ceramics. You will then be driven through the scenic countryside of Carmignano to Poggio A Caiano for a tour of the Medici Villa, the villa was built for Lorenzo the Magnificent and was an architectural triumph for the period late 1400’s.
Lunch will be at the picturesque hamlet of Artimino overlooking a Medici Villa, originally one of their hunting lodges, the menu here is wonderful and it really is one of the most beautiful spots in all of Tuscany. Your final cooking class will start at 5pm. During the class you will all take part in the preparation of the farewell dinner for the group, including your hosts and the villa owners. Everyone will be dining together in the villa’s kitchen with lovely musical entertainment.
