My girlfriend and I enjoyed a fabulous day biking through the Umbrian countryside from Torre del Colle (Ostello Bello) to the hilltop town of Spello. Daniele guided us, and along the way he shared interesting tidbits of information about the history and culture of the area. We stopped for a tasting at a local microbrewery and then for a delicious lunch and olive oil tasting at a restaurant in town. Daniele is clearly a very experienced bike tour leader and he mapped out a route along quiet roads and bike paths with spectacular views. And he is also a photographer and we stopped in a few places to take photos of our memorable experiences. Daniele and Laura are a great team and are super-nice. We stayed at the Ostello Bello hostel which was a really unique experience and I highly recommend it. The place is super cool (like your own tiny little medieval village) with amazing views from our room, a Michelin rated restaurant on-site, and the meeting place for the tours right there so you just climb out of bed and get going. I'm so glad we stumbled on this place. We rented a car which made it easy to get there and explore the nearby towns of Assisi and Bavagna, but it's not absolutely necessary.
