This 7 night Italian cookery holiday will give you a taste of the infamous Italian culinary lifestyle; you will learn how to cook delicious dishes such as simple and popular Italian pasta and sauces, classic Italian bruschetta, pizza, and typical Tuscan desserts, as well as how to pair each course with the ideal Italian wine.

The ‘Borgo’ is one of the oldest farms in Lizzano in Belvedere and it will be your home for this cooking and wine holiday. Just one hour from the magical cities of Bologna and Florence, nestled on a mountain between the borders of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, you will find yourself in a slice of heaven whilst learning local Italian culinary secrets and the regional wine to accompany them.

Your host and chef, Stefania, inherited recipes from her loved ones through the generations and uses them in the kitchen for the preparation of the sfoglia-dough to create her famous tagliatelle with ragù, tortellini, and other Tuscan favourites.

Covering a wide variety of preparation skills for Italian classics from different pastas to sauces, bruschetta and dessert, you will be preparing everything from scratch. This Italian cooking and wine break is guaranteed to fuel your passion for good food, free flowing wine and great company.

You will stay in wonderful historical 4 star farmhouse, villa and apartments with comfortable and luxurious rooms located in a beautiful natural environment deep in the hills of Rocco Cornetta – the location is simply stunning. It is a place of sanctuary where you can switch off, relax and watch the world go by.

Experience Itinerary


– Arrival and check in after 3:00pm
– Afternoon and evening free to settle in and explore the area

Where will I be staying?
– Your accommodation is set in the Dardagna Valley, facing the Riva Mountains, steeped in nature
– You’ll stay in either an apartment or the historical villa that is located in the stunning countryside next to the old farmhouse where your lessons will take place
– There are a total of 10 twin/double guest rooms with ensuite modern bathrooms and tastefully decorated
– If you are travelling solo, stay in a twin/double room for sole occupancy for a small supplement
– All apartments and villas have fireplaces, satellite tv, wifi, and beautiful kitchens
– The rooms are all on the ground floor so remain a comfortable temperature during the hotter months
– There is a lovely swimming pool on the grounds for guests use
– The old farm is atop of a mountain where you can be submerged in nature on a whim or enjoy an afternoon in the city just an hour’s drive away
– Accommodation is included for 7 nights / 8 days
– Check in anytime after 3pm on day 1 and check out by 10am on day 8

– You are free for the rest of the day to relax by the pool or visit the area

Bolognese cooking class

– Tie on your apron for your hands-on cooking class with Chef Stefania
– You will be learning to prepare delicious classic dishes from the city of Bologna including handmade pasta, tagliatelle, ragù alla Bolognese, tortelloni and fior de latte
– Then sit down to enjoy an aperitif followed by lunch (appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, wine tasting)

Tuscan cooking class

– Grab that apron again to cook some Tuscan favourites!
– Today you’ll be learning to prepare Bruschetta Toscana, cantuccini biscuits
– Then sit down to enjoy an aperitif followed by lunch (appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, wine tasting)

Pizza day

– Head back to the kitchen to make an Italian classic – the pizza!
– Work with the best ingredients to make a pizza, toss it and then slide it in to a real wood fire oven for the best results
– Then sit down to enjoy an aperitif followed by lunch (appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, wine tasting)

Free day

– Check out Monteacuto, Castelluccio and Pianaccio, ancient mountain villages still perfectly preserved and made ​​of native stone, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the maple, famous and ancient testimony of the Middle Ages, the Shrine of Our Lady of the Beech; Poggiolforato, Farnè, House flakes and many other small settlements
– Take some time out to drive to Florence, Bologna, Lucca, or Modena and explore (about an hour’s drive)
– Be sure to taste your way through each place you visit!

Free day

– If you love nature, within minutes you can be walking to the river Dardagna, a beautiful mountain stream, which by the peaks of Corno alle Scale down along the valley with towering waterfalls
– Enjoy a gourmet meal at a local restaurant
