What You'll Do

For a private tour that deep dives into Jaipur's food scene, that takes your tastebuds on a journey through the exquisite flavours and treats of the city and shows you the truly authentic, local cuisine, join us on the Jaipur Food Tour.

Assault the senses with the delicately balanced spices, the intriguing textures and the fragrant scents of Jaipur’s food scene, and understand true Jaipur culture through the population’s passion – great food.

We’ll pick you up at 11:00 or 13:30 from the Hawa Mahal, and embark on a culinary adventure through a city famous for its delicious and distinct style of dishes, and in particular its sweet treats.

Watch a live preparation of the spiraling Saffron Jalebis, a crisp, syrupy sweet, and then wander down the lanes of ‘Pani-Puri’ sellers, as the smells of frying, crisp balls filled with a beautiful mixture of spices, chutneys and vegetables fills the air. One of Jaipur’s most popular street snacks, the pani-puri is an essential food for you to taste in your time here.

You’ll also get a taste of the morish ‘Hing Ki Kachori’, and Jaipur’s most famous delicacy, the melt-in-the-mouth ‘Mohanthal’, flavoured with saffron and nuts.

Experience the mania of the food market, the advances of street hawkers and the temptations of bubbling and sizzling street food stalls. Take this opportunity to taste as much as you can, then pick and choose your favourites. The incredible variety on offer on this tour will ensure you’ll discover something new that’ll remain a favourite dish for a long time.

The tour takes place in the winding lanes and bustling streets of central Jaipur, so as well as walking the food trails of the city, you’ll also get insight into the rich heritage of Jaipur, and come to understand the unique street layout of the oldest parts of the city.

Your guide will take you to see some of the ancient traditions and local art demonstrations, still practiced by locals today by an artisan community, who have been working for generations in the shadow of Jaipur’s ancient walls.

Having a local guide will prove incredibly useful, as you are guided to the very best local street food hangouts, and you are shown the truly authentic taste of Jaipur as the locals know it. There’ll be no tourist foods or overpriced deals for you, you’ll get an insight into the real food scene in Jaipur.

Finally, belly full and mind enriched with the flavours of Jaipur’s cuisine and history, we’ll drop you back at the stunning location of the honeycombed palace, Hawa Mahal.
