(1)

What You'll Do

Relax and unwind during yoga lessons then go discover culture, gastronomy & more in Provence and the Côte D’Azur on this fantastic activity filled break based in Saint-Jeannet; with a rolling schedule from Monday to Friday, flexible arrival dates & durations to create your ideal holiday.

This wonderful yoga, gastronomy and culture break is set perched on the border of Provence and the Cote D’Azur, regions renowned for panoramic landscapes, coastal and mountain view and rich history.

You’ll stay in the medieval village of Saint-Jeannet which will be the setting of this 3 night / 4 day yoga holiday combined with guided activities and cultural excursions. This tranquil location sets the scene for your twice daily yoga lessons designed to energise you in the morning and unwind and relax in the evening.

There will also be fantastic cultural excursions through the region to historic and famous villages, and breathtaking scenic sites. Some will be by car, others on foot. From Monday to Friday there is a weekly set schedule which will bring you new experiences and exploration, with everything from landmarks, to regional cooking and food. At the weekend, you’ll have yoga but you have more free time to take part in massage treatments or simply explore the region.

Your arrival, departure and the length you stay can be flexible to suit you and your wishes.

Typical activities include a wonderful hike to get a 360 degree panoramic view over the Mediterranean sea, the French Riviera, and even stopping for a refreshing swim in the local waterfalls and freshwater ponds! On another day, you will head down to Antibes and enjoy the gorgeous city on the sea, and hit some museums and cultural landmarks.

Some days, you’ll end up off the beaten track walking toward a 1000 year old oak tree forest, find yourself sampling cheese on a goat farm, or perhaps finishing the day rambling to a local vineyard to enjoy some wine tastings. You’ll even have the chance to create 3 course meal during a hands-on cooking lesson.

During your holiday, stay in the bright, gorgeously renovated 19th-century B&B, complete with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. Each room has a private ensuite bathroom, WiFi and various other modern amenities. Have an after dinner wander down the medieval cobbles and see where you end up for the sunset.

07: 30 – 09: 00 – Yoga session
09: 00 -10: 30 – Homemade breakfast on the sunny terrace
10: 30 -17: 00 – Hiking day

Inspired by the philosophy of the Zen Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh, let each of our steps anchor us a little more in the present moment. “Every breath we take, every step we take can be filled with peace, joy and serenity. We just need to wake up, living in the present moment”.

In spring and autumn, hike around the Baou towards the top of the mountain for a homemade picnic and a magnificent view of the Côte d’Azur and the Alps. The walk is 8 km, + 350m and -350m difference in height on a rocky path, 4h00 + time for the picnic at the top. We provide backpacks with “Camel back” (1.5L) for drinking as well as trekking poles on request. Please bring comfortable shoes (trainers should suffice), sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and in case of bad weather a windbreaker or rain gear.

In summer, we walk towards the gorges of the Cagnes or the Esteron (walk along the banks or sometimes in the river). You can swim in waterfalls and cool water pools. Please ensure you bring your swimsuit and towel. The walk itself is 5kms, + 100m and -100m of altitude difference on uneven ground, 2h30 + time for picnic and swimming in the river.

18: 30 -19: 45 – Meditation session.
20:00 – Dinner at your convenience.

I was fortunate enough to have a week here in August and it was a welcome respite from a challenging year during the pandemic. Benoit and the team take care of everything with great care and attention. The room had a beautiful view across the valley towards the sea and the yoga studio looked on to the mountain tops. There was delicious healthy food and a full program that you could engage with, or step out of if you wanted a more leisurely pace. The village of Saint Jeannet is perched between two incredible mountain tops and is charming, authentic and contained. The day trips we took were so enjoyable and the river swims were real highlights of the trip. I travelled by myself but never felt lonely or out of place. Highly recommended.
