The experienced and passionate surf instructors are all highly qualified and hold a national safety certificates to ensure you receive high quality tuition during your surfing holiday.

On your first day, you will be kitted out with a surf board and wet suit suitable for your level of surfing experience.

Once you have your gear, you’ll hit the beach to start your surf lessons with a demonstration and training on the sand. You’ll also be taught how to check the surf spot by learning how to read the wind, currents and waves before getting into the water.

This excellent surf school in Biarritz has been teaching people of all ages how to surf on the beach of the Cote des Basques since 1966. Using techniques perfected over more than 50 years, your excellent surfing lessons will be run by experienced and highly qualified surf instructors who will have you up on your board and riding the waves in no time. The team is led by Christophe, whose father founded the surf school back in 1966. Christophe continues to run the school with the same passion, experience and spirit of his father, Jo.

Typical course schedule
You will have 1.5 hours of surf lessons per day. Lesson times vary depending on the wave conditions so it is important to check the start times with the surf school 24 hours in advance of the start date of your course.

Surf lessons are structured to ‘check the spot’, train on the beach and then hit the water.

Weather and surf conditions
For safety reasons, your surfing lessons will only be given during low tide so please be sure to check the start time of each surf lesson with the surf school in advance of arrival.

If the waves are too ‘fat’ in Biarritz, your lessons will take place at Hendaye beach, 20 minutes away, and transport will be included.

Learn to surf at Biarritz’s very first surf school on the beach of the Cote des Basques in Biarritz; this friendly and professional surf school has been teaching people of all ages how to surf during excellent and fun surf courses since 1966.

The surf school is located on Biarritz’s central Plage de la Cote des Basques, a wonderful stretch of beach just a short walk from the city centre.

The beach is often completely covered at high tide but also has the largest area at low tide. Its conditions are ideal for beginner surfers and longboarders, offering long and easy waves to surf.

The journey from Biarritz airport to the surf school by taxi takes approximately 10 minutes.
