What You'll Do

Experience the greatest natural show on earth, nestled in the wilderness of the Finnish backcountry, in a unique, first-class setting. Spend your days immersing yourself in the pure natural environment of Lapland, and your evenings gazing in awe at the brilliant colours of the Aurora Borealis.

The tour begins once you’ve been picked up from Ivalo airport, and taken to your luxurious Aurora Cabin to begin your three-day hunt for the Northern Lights.

Seeing this phenomenon in person is one that simply can’t be matched, as brilliant reds and greens burst across the inky black sky, brushing the deep fir forests.

In fact, The Northern Lights were thought to possess great magical power, which is why the ancient Sámi shamanic drums have dedicated patterns for controlling the flames of the sky, and when you see them for yourself can completely understand why man might resort to the supernatural as an explanation.

You’ll receive high-class accommodation in a cozy Aurora Cabin, the glass roof providing an expansive, panoramic view of the space above you. You’ll have the opportunity to experience exhilarating dog sled and reindeer rides, and set out on snowshoe expeditions into the magnificent wintery forests and fells.

Gliding through the impossibly still forest and the crisp, clear Lapland air is a hugely liberating feeling, and you’ll come across some of the most beautiful natural landscapes anywhere in Finland.

Satisfyingly wearied from a day of once-in-a-lifetime excursions, settle in for some delicious food prepared with only the purest ingredients from Lapland, served by a roaring, warming log fire and in the snug Lappi restaurant.

The entire program has been crafted with skill and passion so that you can enjoy this unforgettable experience totally, without compromising on comfort as you relax in the highest quality accommodation on a Lapland adventure to remember.

A full example itinerary is detailed below, activity timings can differ slightly, your own personal schedule will be given to you upon check in.

Please note that the Autumn itinerary is in operation from 1 September to 13 November, when there is usually not enough snow to do the winter snow activities such as reindeer sleigh, and long husky rides. During this season the activities are a guided electric fat bike safari  and a shorter husky sled ride.

Experience Itinerary

Escape to the Wilderness

When you touch down at Ivalo airport, we’ll be waiting there to transfer you directly to the incredible Northern Lights Village. Drive through the ethereal pine forest, and arrive at your very own luxury glass-roofed cabin, nestled within the still trees.

Take some time to settle in, unpack, or explore the site, then we’ll welcome you for a dinner in the cosy Lappi restaurant for a meal made with natural, local produce from the surrounding environment.

After dinner, the evening is yours to enjoy. You can choose to relax in front of a roaring log fire or even book a trip to see the Northern Lights:

Then head back to your warm cabin for a night of lying under the ink-black sky, gazing upwards through the clear window to catch a glimpse of the incredible Northern Lights.

Activity timings may differ slightly, your confirmed schedule will be given to you upon check in.

Immerse Yourself in Nature

Start your day with a hearty breakfast, and prepare yourself for a day of activities that will allow you to truly get in touch with nature and experience true wilderness.

You’ll start the day with a reindeer express ride. Get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures, so central to Sami culture and symbolic of life in the far northern reaches of Finland.

Experience a ride in a sleigh from one of these gentle animals, and hiss through the silent trees and the pure, cold air.

NOTE: 1st September – 13 November  this activity will be a guided electric fat bike safari in the wonderful lappish countryside.

You’ll have free access to the site’s sleds, snowshoes, skis and other equipment for the entire experience, so that you’re free to explore the trails and paths that snake through this untouched, pristine part of the world and discover dramatic fells, hidden clearings and frozen lakes.

After lunch, it’s time for a husky safari. These beautiful, energetic dogs will take you on a tour of the incredible landscape, for around 10 km, and you’ll get to spend time interacting with these affectionate animals.

NOTE between 1 September and 13 November the husky sled ride will be shorter as the weather is too warm for the dogs to run for long distances.

Satisfyingly wearied and chilled from a day in the open, you’ll head for another warming, hearty dinner, warm your bones by an open fire, and spend the evening at your leisure, waiting for the spectacular Borealis to burn across the clear night sky.

Activity timings may differ slightly, your confirmed schedule will be given to you upon check in.

We have just returned from our amazing adventure to Lapland. We had a brilliant time and packed so much in to our 4 days but without feeling we were rushing around. The food and accommodation were fantastic and the activities were excellent too, so many firsts and ‘bucket-list’ things. We also managed to fit in a husky sledge tour and a day at the local ski slope. Thank you to the excellent team of guides (Tamara and Hamma specifically), experts (Husky team and Reindeer team), reception/restaurant staff, chefs, drivers, spa team and all the other team members. To top it all off we even saw the Aurora Borealis at around 0600 from our cabin on new year’s day after waking up purely by chance! Phenomenal! The whole package was outstanding with the right amount of outdoor activities and relaxation and a great resort and location.
