Join a professional forager to learn the art of foraging, and discover the vast range of wild edibles available right in London, for a unique experience that really gets you off the beaten track.
Meet your guide in Hackney Marshes, East London, and after your initial meeting, you will go through some of the basics of foraging. You will then head out to discover what exciting wild foods are growing nearby.
During the foraging event, your professional forager will introduce you to a number of edible species; giving you tips on harvesting, correct identification and possible look-alikes.
You will have an opportunity to taste a huge range of pre-made wild food tasters
from pickles to jams, chutneys, syrups, flavoured salts, alcohol infusions and much more.
This will help you see a side to London you really wouldn’t expect – it’s hardly the first place you think of when considering wild spaces bursting with edible plants!

James is now seen as one of the UK’s top foraging and wild food experts, he’s on a mission to share this knowledge and show people that wild food is something we can all forage, prepare and enjoy! James has brought together an amazing team of experienced passionate foragers who lead foraging groups in forests and wild spaces throughout the UK. The foragers are local to the area and have a deep knowledge of the local environment, flora and fauna and especially the edible plants and flowers!
The tour takes place in Hackney Marshes, East London. The best stations to stop at are Homerton, served by the Overground and a 10 minute walk from the meeting point, or Leyton, which is served by the Central Line.
