What You'll Do

Ullswater is considered by many to be the most beautiful of the big lakes in a region of incredible scenery. Immerse yourself in its nature and experience the tranquillity of the Lake District like never before, as you explore the beauty of this lake and discover it's hidden shorelines on this full day guided kayak tour.

Before meeting with Leigh, your guide for the day, he’ll tell you what’s good to bring along. After a friendly welcome and a little getting to know you, Leigh will help you decide what is best to wear for the conditions that day to ensure you are comfortable throughout. This is followed by a quick brief on what to do, then it’s right onto the water.

There’s no set route or farthest out point – that will depend on conditions and group ability. What is guaranteed though is hours of fun, laughs, games and, of course, kayaking. Leigh will also be on hand to offer suggestions on other things to see and do in the area, as well as advice on walking trails around Ullswater.

The Sea Kayaks provided are used for maximum comfort and stability. You’ll use double (tandem) boats unless there is an odd number of guests on the trip. While a capsize is very unlikely, it is always possible, so please bring spare clothes just in case you do go in.

We had a fantastic time in the company of Leigh and another couple. Leigh was fun yet reassuring and professional. He is very knowledgeable of the area as well as kayaking. The games on the lake helped me get comfortable in the kayak too. Thanks Leig...
