Take a trip away from La Fortuna de Arenal to visit Don Juan’s organic farm which produces some of the countries's most exquisite sugar cane where you will learn to make traditional tortillas in a wood oven.
Just outside La Fortuna de Arenal is Don Juan’s organic farm one of the finest examples of Costa Rican sugar cane farming and production. The farm uses sustainable and eco-friendly methods to throughout, from the farming itself, right through to recycling kitchen leftovers for pigs and cows
Here you’ll tour the barn where sugar cane is processed and have a taste of the sensational sugar cane juice, sugar cane candy and cane pieces. A favourite among the local Costa Ricans is the sugar cane liquor known as “Guaro”.
You’ll then visit the farm’s restaurant where you’ll participate in the preparation of traditional hand-made tortillas in the wood oven and then enjoy some local snacks and coffee, interacting with the locals.
