Fun and intimate wine tour, taking you to some of Cape Town’s hidden winery gems.
Cape Town Wine Tour… what’s not to love?
We love wine, you love wine (or at the very least, you drink wine, which amounts to the same thing), one full day of drinking wine… what’s not to love? Screw wine snobbery – we’re all about having a fun Cape Town wine tour and a drink, we mean tasting as much wine as possible.
Come with your best Screw It attitude for a day through Cape Town’s Winelands. We’ll show you glitz and glamour wineries, as well as secret gems off the beaten track. Drinking is hungry work, so naturally, we’ve included lunch as well.
Get ready to visit two wineries off the beaten track:
Saxenberg Wine Estate
Situated on the hills above Kuilsrivier, Saxenberg is one of the countries oldest wine farms in the Cape Town, South Africa. You will be transported to an atmosphere true to the tale of an African farm. You’ll even be able to spot some wildlife on the road up to the tasting room! Although famous for its Shiraz, many of the Saxenberg wines – reds and whites – are enjoyed around the world. This is a truly unique wine farm that helped put red wine on the Stellenbosch map.
Mooiplaas Wine Estate
Visit the beautiful Mooiplaas Wine Estate and Private Nature Reserve. From the sun-yellowed African landscape of Saxenburg, we head off to the lush green garden of Mooiplaas. A family run winery, on steep slopes of the mineral-rich soils of the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch, overlooking Cape Town. This farm takes special pride in being biodynamic and conserving the beautiful indigenous fauna of the Cape. You can taste the attention to natural detail in their award-winning wine too! You’ll enjoy a tasting under the giant oak trees in the garden or, if the weather isn’t playing the game, inside the old Dutch stone farmhouse that stills smells of winter stove fires of yesteryear.
This will be our lunch spot, too. Grab a picnic basket filled with homemade farmhouse treats, from freshly baked bread, artisanal cheeses to preserves and small desserts. Wonder out into the beautiful garden and picnic areas and relax under the ancient oak trees to enjoy your leisurely lunch.
Pick up and drop off.
